More about the "Open Skies" deal

Yesterday I posted a link to an article about the potential of More flights across "The Pond" and lower transatlantic airfares expected. Apparently, an agreement between the EU and the US has been reached. However, don't think British Airways and Virgin Atlantic are going to let this go with a fight.

While details of the pact were not released, it is intended to allow European airlines to fly from anywhere in the EU to any point in the US, and vice versa, while shedding rules that restrict how much carriers are allowed to charge fliers.

British Airways And Virgin Criticise Open Skies Deal

British Airways said the deal was not good for UK aviation, while Virgin called it a missed opportunity ... The worry for many critics is that the deal favours US carriers, and that companies such as British Airways and Virgin would have to give up valuable prime-time landing and take-off slots at Heathrow airport.
